John is originally from the heart of Montana where he began his career as a horseman at an early age. After graduating with an Agri-Business degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, John moved to Oklahoma as an assistant trainer for Troy Compton in Purcell, Oklahoma.
After successfully training and showing for Troy, John made the move to Southern Oregon where he worked for Todd Bergen for the next three years.
With his marriage in 2004 to Rose, John settled in Southern Oregon and has since established himself as an up and coming young trainer in the reining horse industry. He owns and operates a successful training stable specializing in futurity and derby-aged horses.
